Talking with patients about race and gender identity

Branding, Packaging, Web

A toolkit to guide CT State Medical Society’s medical professionals in becoming more comfortable asking sensitive questions around race, ethnicity, sexuality, and gender helped to instill the mindset that sensitive information is important data that enables medical professionals to provide the best care to patients.

The toolkit, including a data collection guide, workshop activity sheets, and posters, was distributed for use among CTSMS’ partner facilities. Branded to feel upbeat, friendly and human, it worked to start a dialogue that would encourage use of the information and transparency with patients.
